To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else-means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.”

-EE Cummings

Hey I’m Kristin

Welcome To My Travel & Personal Finance Blog!

In addition to being a traveler, I am also an entrepreneur running my own accounting practice called Gradient Accounting.

If you’ve previously been to this website (travelingcpachick.com), you might remember that we had a blog and template shop geared toward small business owners in years 1 & 2 of their journey.

Well, I have officially repurposed the site as my own personal blog! Because… heck, I need a creative outlet where I can just write and no one will read it. OK, well maybe you’re reading it right now, and if so I’m very grateful.

A little bit more about my story:

-In 2016, I started a travel blog called Picnic Wednesday while I was living in Boston, MA. The idea came about during my weekly outdoor picnics at local parks in effort to breakup the monotony of the workweek, and to integrate the traveler mindset into my daily life.

I have since shut this blog down, but it was my first taste of “entrepreneurship” and building something on my own!

-In 2019, I left my cushy full time job in public accounting to become a digital nomad with my partner, Tom.

-That same year, I started solo traveling with my first solo trip to Ireland. I will shamelessly explain to you how great solo travel is and how everyone should do it.

-In 2020, I went full-time with Gradient Accounting. Most importantly, that year Tom and I got married. And yes, I still solo travel!

-My home base is the beautiful city of Knoxville, TN and I LOVE spending weekends in the mountains.

-I try to “nomad” at least 3 months per year internationally.

-In 2023, I started the process of working on my Italian Citizenship (Jure Sanguinis)

-Some other personal interests include writing, reading, finding and eating the best pastries, yoga, running, learning Spanish (and maybe Italian soon?)

Thank you for being here, and I’m looking forward to connecting with like-minded individuals!
